Michael Cortesis
The Cortesis name has been a trusted name in the local community since 1917.
Born and raised in the area, Michael has been an active community member and businessman for many years. As member of the Cobourg Rotary club for 30 years, Michael has a passion for giving back to his community. He is past chairman of the Peterborough Easter Seals Telethon, Past President of the Cobourg Rotary Club, Past Co-chair of the Northumberland United Way and has participated in many other local committees, coached baseball teams and was a cub leader.
Michael has been married to the love of his life Elizabeth for over 40 years.Michael graduated from Ryerson University in Business Administration and then received his post graduate degree from the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica California.Michael was also seen on the hit series "Till Debt Do Us Part" as the real estate expert.
Commitment is not just a word to Michael it is a way of life. Michael was awarded the People’s Choice for Best Realtor for three straight years in a row. He was crowned Business Man of the Year in Northumberland in 2008. Michael has received many RE/MAX awards Michael’s experience in marketing and negotiating skills makes him an asset to the clients he works with.Elaine (Cortesis) Yates joined the team in 2020. Elaine was raised in the area, and was a mentor to young entrepreneurs involved in the Summer Company Program for many years. Elaine is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Business Administration.
She started her real-estate career working in commercial leasing for a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) company in downtown Toronto, then moved back to Cobourg to raise her family. She has a commitment to community involvement and was a Board of Directors member for the local women’s shelter for 5 years, then sat at the Board of Directors Chair for 2 years. Elaine is a highly skilled negotiator who brings her negotiating skills to always get her clients the best outcome for any deal.
